- Go to bed earlier. Most people are lacking enough sleep, and that makes it much harder to get up in the morning.
- Put your alarm clock and all digital devices across the room. If the snooze button is out of reach, you will have to get out of bed to turn the alarm off.
- If you have to keep the snooze button within arm's reach, set a second alarm across the room for five minutes after the first alarm. That will force you to get up.
- Put a wet washcloth by your bed (on a non-wooden surface, so the furniture isn't ruined!) and slap it on your face when you wake up. The shock will make you quite alert.
- If you normally sleep through the alarm, try getting an alarm with a different sound. Your brain can learn to tune out one alarm, but it can't ignore a different one.
- Try putting a few M&Ms or chocolate coffee beans next to the bed. When your alarm goes off, eat them. This will help stir your senses.
- Leave the curtains or window blinds open. Daylight getting into the room will help you wake up.
- Try to have some motivation or reward for waking up on time. Maybe go to see that flick you've been wanting to see.
- Lay out all your needed clothes and/or items needed for the next day the night before. But do not use this as an excuse to sleep later.
- Wake up to something that increases your adrenalin levels. Boom! You are in action and there´s no need to wait like a zombie for 15 minutes to wake up completely.
